Who first gave to us the gift
Of how to love each other?
Was it not from infancy,
We gleaned it from our mother?
Who first gave the loving touch
Of tenderness and care?
Was it not the daily gift
Of mother being there?
Who first kissed us on the cheek,
Who studied every trait?
Who would work and toil for us
And who would always “wait.”
Who would stop to listen,
And who took time to pray?
Who demonstrated faithful love,
Day by day by day?
From birth until the grave
We forever gain so much,
By pouring out our mother’s love,
Like she poured into us.
Genesis 3: 20 “Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.” NIV

For Glory's Sake
I look always to Jesus,
When in my strength I fail.
He is my eternal refuge;
In Him, I will prevail.
Even weakness and mistakes
He can use for glory’s sake.
I look always to Jesus,
When strongholds seem to win.
He is my forever victor,
In Him, I’ll conquer sin.
Even frailty and mistakes
He transforms for glory’s sake.
I look always to Jesus,
When my heart is hurt and weak.
He is my trusted intercessor
In Him, new mercies speak.
Even wounds and grave mistakes
He will heal for glory’s sake.
I look always to Jesus,
When my grief is far too deep.
He is my comfort and caress
In Him, I too can weep.
Even sorrow and mistakes
He will soothe for glory’s sake.
I look always to Jesus,
When my hope begins to wane.
He is my sovereign Lord and comfort
In Him, He makes it plain:
Even failures and mistakes
He allows for glory’s sake.

Heart To Heart
I knew the warmth of Your embrace,
You called me by my name,
I've felt the presence of Your touch,
I'll never be the same.
Nestled securely in Your arms,
Your heart beats close to mine,
To hold me safely next to You,
Your promise, Your design.
My name engraved upon Your palm,
Your pledge forevermore,
You picked me, chosen for Your own,
And heaven is in store.
A wedding feast You have prepared
And there Your bride will dine,
When all the saints are gathered there,
Still your eyes seek out mine.
But sin created distance
As if You had withdrawn,
And prayer requires purity,
Our fellowship now gone.
No longer beating heart to heart
A wedge my sin creates,
But, thankfully, conviction comes
Releasing sin's dead weight.
Confession births forgiveness,
Your grace now beckons me,
'Cause love was nailed on Calvary
To set my spirit free.
In spite of all that I have done
My guilt You have assuaged,
But scars still linger on my heart
Knowing the war I waged.
"If we (freely) admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins (dismiss our lawlessness) and continuously cleanse us from all unrighteousness--everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought and action." I John 1:9 (Amplified Bible)
"Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace--the throne of God's unmerited favor (to us sinners); that we may receive mercy (for our failures) and find grace to help in good time for every need--appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it." Hebrews 4:16 (Amplified Bible)

Heaven Has...
No locks or keys
No desperate pleas.
No crime or hate
No iron gates.
No ills or pills
No falls or spills.
No courts or jails
No mourning wails.
No shots or casts
No terror blasts.
No lies or schemes
No broken dreams.
No filth or dirt
No careless hurts.
No fear or dread
No lack of bread.
No debt no pain
No flooding rain.
No cheats or crooks
No filthy books.
No cons or “switches”
No false wishes.
No germs or plagues
No broken legs.
No morgues or malls
No hospitals.
No tears or sorrows
No “maybe tomorrows.”
No departing or goodbyes
No more red or crying eyes.
No missing any thing on earth
No way to fathom heaven’s worth.

Rainbow Before the Storm
Today, I saw a rainbow in the sky
I couldn't help but wonder “why”?
Why a rainbow before the storm?
This definitely wasn't the norm.
I pondered over this question
and this was my impression.
God was reminding me, “Don't fear
for I will always be near.”
God is present every day of my life
even before there is any sign of strife.
When clouds appear, I know He's there.
During the storm, He listens to my prayer.
Storms thundered as they came tonight,
Chasing away the final glimmer of light.
During the dark the Son is my consolation
He's the source of my life's transformation.
So remember to look at God's rainbow
and realize that He is not your foe.
Allow Him to comfort and soothe you
as the trials of life He leads you through.

A Gift To All Mankind
An act of condescension,
An act of love and grace,
When deity became a man
To save this human race.
The two in one, both God and man,
Mistreated and abused,
And oft misunderstood by those
Who stood by and accused.
He laid aside His glory
In order to reach man,
To implement the Father's will,
To put in place His plan.
Indeed a gift to all mankind
Modeling a life of love,
Dependence on the Father,
Direction from above.
And so we walk the path prepared
Thus following His steps,
And wise the man who understands,
Dependence then accepts.
Alone we can do nothing,
Alone we try and fail,
But only as we do God's will
Will truth and love prevail.
The Incarnation demonstrates
Dependence in all things,
For Jesus truly understood
All from the Father springs.

Poem: My Soul Now Sings
My invisible scars
are plain for anyone to see,
as I blindly journey on...
This path of Christianity.
Wanting deliberate faith
ready on my tongue,
I received God's Salvation
when I was dumb and young.
Inflicted wounds to my soul
from a lack of understanding
have been healed by the Power
of Christ's personal anointing.
I am worth dying for
according to His Word;
The Lamb's wondrous sacrifice
had sin to Himself transferred.
Now my soul graciously sings
with overflowing joy!
For redemption has been granted
to this formerly, lost boy.
