You called me by my name,
I've felt the presence of Your touch,
I'll never be the same.
Nestled securely in Your arms,
Your heart beats close to mine,
To hold me safely next to You,
Your promise, Your design.
My name engraved upon Your palm,
Your pledge forevermore,
You picked me, chosen for Your own,
And heaven is in store.
A wedding feast You have prepared
And there Your bride will dine,
When all the saints are gathered there,
Still your eyes seek out mine.
But sin created distance
As if You had withdrawn,
And prayer requires purity,
Our fellowship now gone.
No longer beating heart to heart
A wedge my sin creates,
But, thankfully, conviction comes
Releasing sin's dead weight.
Confession births forgiveness,
Your grace now beckons me,
'Cause love was nailed on Calvary
To set my spirit free.
In spite of all that I have done
My guilt You have assuaged,
But scars still linger on my heart
Knowing the war I waged.
"If we (freely) admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins (dismiss our lawlessness) and continuously cleanse us from all unrighteousness--everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought and action." I John 1:9 (Amplified Bible)
"Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace--the throne of God's unmerited favor (to us sinners); that we may receive mercy (for our failures) and find grace to help in good time for every need--appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it." Hebrews 4:16 (Amplified Bible)

How thankful we are for His forgiveness. If we repent He is so willing to forgive. Thanks for sharing another of your wonderful poems.
