Olympic Color

Colorful flags are flying,
Excitement's in the air,
And uniforms are on display,
The crowds are everywhere.

Each nation's represented,
Their flags are proudly borne,
The colors bright and beautiful
So gloriously adorn.

The Olympic flag's a symbol...
The five rings intertwined...
To show that all five continents
Unite as humankind.

Blue and yellow, black and green
And red upon the white,
One color shows up somewhere
On every country's flight.

As flags unfurl and athletes stand
Our hearts lift high with pride,
Our best is represented,
Their hard work justified.

As colorful as the display
It pales to what I'll see
When one day heaven is my home
What God prepares for me.

Then too I'll stand before the judge,
I'll raise my banner high,
And hopefully His heart will sing
And proudly He will sigh...

"My child, it is finished,
Your work at last is done,
Achievements did not get you here
But My race you have run.

My blood has covered all your sins,
And you are free at last,
A world of color I've prepared
A world that's unsurpassed."

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." I Corinthians 2:9 (New International Version)

Not sure how to sign up, but wish to leave this poem, if I may...

"Christ...or self?"

(c) By: Sharon Slaton Howell

The worldly man doesn't think so,
But one who yearns to obey
What Jesus taught will know
That what I say is true --
The less there is of me, myself
The better for all concerned.
Nothing blocks the needed good
You and I otherwise might do
Like too much self
(As many of us have learned.)
The sooner we're delivered from it
The sooner will we be carrying out
Our blessed Master's words:
"Herein is my Father glorified,
That ye bear much fruit."

(John 15:8)
