Temporary Housing

Temporary housing...
That's all this body is,
A place in which the Spirit dwells,
It is not mine, but His.

It serves a purpose in this world,
A means to serve, to do,
But it won't last forever
Though I worry, fret and stew.

It's true that it's important
But not my main concern,
Investing in eternity
Is what my soul must learn.

So if my body is not all
That I would choose or ask,
I can be certain it's equipped
For my appointed task.

Whatever my God asks of me,
For that He will equip,
And that alone is all I need
And it will last the trip.

With any earthly housing
Of course we must take care,
But it is not our prime concern,
It's only what we wear.

Someday I'll shed these earthly clothes,
This body's chains I'll flee.
Fatigue and pain will disappear
At last be truly free.

II Corinthians 5:1-19

Amen! "For we know that if our earthly house of [this] tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." —2 Corinthians 5:1KJV
