The
Book of Revelation can often be perceived as the most confusing book
in the bible. It is and has been a source of division within
Christian ranks and many "isms" have developed due to
conflicting views. Postmillennialism, Premillennialism,
Amillennialism, Pretribulationalism, Posttribulationalism. Most of
these would score pretty well on a Scrabble board, but don't detract
from the truth about Christ's return. Whether the saints have been
raptured first or have to live through the great tribulation remains
contentious, but Paul was definitely talking in the first person when
he said in 1 Thessalonians 4:17
"Then
we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them
in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air ..."
Paul
was talking as if he expected it might happen in his own day. It may
yet happen in our own.
A
day soon approaches. Let those with ears hear
We
know not the day nor the hour nor year
Seated
on a white horse, clothed in power and might
When
He comes, it will be like a thief in the night
From
the ends of the Earth all the mighty convene
The
kings and their generals and mighty machines
Countless
warships in ocean and jets in the air
Who
can stand in the way of such strength and despair?
Aligning
themselves with the lord of the dark
People
worship his beast and they carry his mark
With
blindness and hatred, they spurn all restraint
Their
steel dripping red with the blood of God’s saints
Despite
Fathers’ plea through His witnesses sent
They
endure His full wrath and still fail to repent
He
burns the great city and though they all mourn
With
their fists raised on high, still they holler their scorn
The
trumpets have blown. Heavens gates open wide
Through
walks a horse with one sitting astride
His
robe dipped in blood and His eyes so ablaze
For
Him all creation was born to give praise
Many
crowns on His head, He comes forth to wage war
Heavens
armies behind Him, the angels all roar
The
King of all Kings and The Lord of all Lords
His
Word that gave life, now a double edged sword
All
the mighty of men and the beast gather nigh
With
their weapons of war, STILL they seek to defy
Spurned
by the beast and that dragon the traitor
In
vain they join battle against their Creator
The
beast and his prophet, the liar of liars
Are
captured and thrown into Hell’s greatest fire
And
Satan, that dragon, though locked up for a time
Will
join his companions to pay for his crimes
And
what of mankind who wage war in their pride?
Jesus
opens His mouth and the lot of ‘em die
All
those who stood tall, from the greatest to least
Will
be fodder for birds at the greatest of feasts
Will
it be in our time? Only God knows the day
So
join Him and know Him and love Him and pray
The
truth is He loves you, so don’t be unnerved
But
His justice is coming and it WILL be served!
